Welcome to the BLIS program. As Program Director, I am proud to guide a program that nurtures future information professionals and knowledge managers. We are dedicated to preparing students with the skills, values, and mindset needed to manage, organize, and provide access to information in today’s fast-changing world.

This program provides a curriculum that covers essential areas such as cataloging and classification, reference and information services, collection management, archives and records management, information technology applications, and research methods. Beyond technical expertise, our program emphasizes information ethics, lifelong learning, communication skills, and service to the community.

The BLIS program equips students to become competent librarians, information officers, archivists, and knowledge managers. With the support of dedicated faculty, practical training, and access to modern learning resources, our graduates are ready to take on the challenges of managing information in both traditional and digital environments. The RMMC BLIS Program envisions becoming a premier institution in developing morally upright, innovative, and globally competitive library and information professionals through quality education, research, and service.

Goals and Objectives

To produce skilled, innovative, and research-driven library and information professionals;

To provide responsive and inclusive library and information services that support education, research, and community development;

To design, organize, and promote access to information systems and services that preserve cultural heritage and meet the needs of diverse users.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

Graduates of the RMMC BLIS Program are expected to:

• demonstrate competence in managing information resources, services, and technologies across various library and information settings;

• uphold ethical standards and promote intellectual freedom, equitable access to information, and cultural sensitivity in their professional practice;

• engage in lifelong learning and research to contribute to the advancement of the library and information science field;

• support community and institutional development through inclusive and effective information services;

• lead and innovate by addressing emerging trends and challenges in the information profession.
