Welcome to the College of Teacher Education

The CTE molds future educators with a strong commitment to academic excellence, values formation, research, and innovative teaching strategies to shape learners and communities in a global context.

VISION

The College of Teacher Education envisions graduates with potentials enhanced by national, global, and multicultural perspectives who are lifelong learners and responsible citizens, equipped with sufficient knowledge and skills that will assure their proficiency in the different fields of specialization and are prepared for professional advancement.

MISSION

To attain this vision, the College of Teacher Educations' mission is to provide a high-quality, comprehensive and meaningful education to empower all students to apply their acquired skills and knowledge and to rely upon their personal attributes to succeed within the bounds of their abilities and chosen educational goals to lead productive lives and become contributors of development to the community.

Goals

The following are the goals of the College of Teacher Education to achieve this mission:

1. Design effective instructional materials for comprehensive learning to meet the challenges of an increasingly knowledge-conscious and information-focused society.

2. Provide students with research competencies and skills needed for higher learning.

3. Establish a culture of community services with partner institutions to demonstrate among students, social responsibility and concern for the disadvantaged.

Program Objectives

In accordance with the vision and mission of the College, the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) (Based on CMO 74 Series of 2017) / Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) program (Based on CMO 75 Series of 2017), aims to produce highly committed, innovative, and well-rounded teachers who:

a. have meaningful and comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter they will teach (including curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development, educational assessment, and teaching approaches) and the role of the teacher in facilitating these processes in their students. (COGNITIVE KNOWLEDGE).

b. have creativity and innovation in applying alternative teaching approaches while demonstrating a basic and higher level of literacy, communication, numeracy, critical thinking, and learning skills to include research skills needed for higher learning. (PSYCHOMOTOR/SKILLS).

c. are willing and capable to continue in order to fulfill their mission as a teacher while upholding and practicing the professional and ethical requirements of the teaching profession. (AFFECTIVE/VALUES).

BCAEd

Bachelor of Culture and the Arts Education

The Bachelor of Culture and the Arts Education (BCAEd) is a four-year degree program designed to prepare students to become competent and creative educators specializing in culture, heritage, and the arts. The program integrates pedagogical training with in-depth study of Philippine and global cultural traditions, visual and performing arts, indigenous knowledge systems, and creative industries.

The curriculum includes courses in cultural theory, arts appreciation, curriculum development, educational technology, and teaching methodologies specific to the cultural and artistic disciplines. It also involves practicum and teaching internships in basic education or community-based cultural programs.

Graduates are qualified to become culture and arts educators, curriculum specialists, cultural workers, community arts organizers, or pursue careers in museums, cultural institutions, and heritage preservation agencies. The program also prepares graduates to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), particularly for those aiming to teach in the K–12 arts and culture track.

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) is a four-year degree program designed to prepare future educators with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to effectively teach and care for young children from birth to age eight.

The program focuses on child development, early learning principles, instructional strategies, classroom management, play-based learning, and inclusive education. It also includes practical training through field studies and student teaching in preschool and early elementary settings.

Graduates of BECEd are equipped to become preschool and early grade teachers, child development specialists, daycare administrators, or curriculum developers for early childhood programs. The program also qualifies graduates to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and pursue careers in both public and private early learning institutions.

Bachelor in Elementary Education

The Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd) is a four-year degree program that prepares students to become competent and dedicated elementary school teachers. It focuses on the holistic development of future educators equipped to teach all learning areas at the elementary level, typically from Grades 1 to 6.

The curriculum includes foundational courses in education, child and adolescent development, curriculum design, educational assessment, classroom management, and specialized instruction in subjects such as Math, Science, English, Filipino, and Social Studies. It also features extensive practicum and student teaching experience in real classroom settings.

Graduates are qualified to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and pursue careers as licensed elementary teachers, instructional coordinators, subject specialists, or education program facilitators in both public and private schools.

Bachelor of Physical Education

The Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) is a four-year degree program that prepares students to become effective and knowledgeable physical education teachers and sports professionals. It focuses on the promotion of physical fitness, motor skills development, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles through physical activity and sports.

The curriculum covers areas such as human anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, motor learning, individual and team sports, dance and rhythmic activities, exercise science, and teaching strategies in physical education. It also includes practice teaching and field experiences in school and community settings.

Graduates are equipped to teach Physical Education in basic education, and may also pursue careers as coaches, fitness trainers, sports program coordinators, dance instructors, or work in recreational and wellness programs. The program qualifies graduates to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

The Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) is a four-year degree program designed to prepare future educators to teach Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) subjects in the Junior High School level. Students may specialize in areas such as Agri-Fishery Arts, Home Economics, Industrial Arts, or Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The curriculum includes general education, professional education, and specialization courses, along with field study and practice teaching.

Graduates are qualified to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and pursue careers as TLE teachers, skills trainers, livelihood program facilitators, or work in vocational education institutions and community development agencies.
