RMMC BSCE PROGRAM ENRICHED ITS RESEARCH CULTURE BY PARTICIPATING IN THE 3RD GENERAL SANTOS CITY NATIONAL STATISTICS MONTH RESEARCH FORUM General Santos City, Philippines – October 3, 2025. In celebration of the 36th National Statistics Month with the theme “Accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All,” the 3rd General Santos City National Statistics Month Research Forum was successfully held at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University, General Santos City. The event gathered educators, professionals, and research enthusiasts from various academic and government institutions to promote data-driven research and innovation in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Representing the Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges (RMMC) were faculty members from the Civil Engineering Program — Engr. Elesio F. Camiller, Engr. Maria Ysabella Moscoso with co-authors Engr. Kayloh Abo and Dan Mhomar Cabuhay, and Engr. Renante Orang with co-authors Engr. Tongantong and Engr. Tagolanao. Also joining the RMMC delegation was John Lester Espinosa from the Information Technology Department, with co-authors Sir Jim Jamero and Ms. Ethel Oczon, MSIS, who presented their collaborative research highlighting the integration of technology and data management in advancing sustainable development efforts. A proud moment for the institution came when the study “Sawdust as partial replacement to sand to concrete” presented by the BSCE Faculty — Engr. Renante Orang — was recognized as one of the Top 10 for Best Research and Best Presenter of the forum, showcasing the quality and impact of RMMC’s research contributions. The RMMC delegation received full support from College Dean Ms. Ethel Oczon, MSIS, BSCE Program Head Engr. Mark Lehi Palmes, BSCS Program Head Sir Jim Jamero, REEDO Head Dr. Marichu Diendo, and the dedicated REEDO staff, who continue to foster a culture of research excellence and innovation across the college. The forum served as a meaningful platform for knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration among educators and researchers. RMMC’s strong representation in the event reflects the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the use of data science as a driving force toward achieving a sustainable and progressive future.
