RMMC Celebrates National Heritage Month with Art, Music, and Cultural Pride the Culture and the Arts Office of Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges (RMMC), under the Student Services Office, marked National Heritage Month with a lively celebration that honored the institution’s commitment to preserving and promoting Filipino culture. The event, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), featured stellar performances from the RMMC Himig Chorale, Sinag-laya, and Teatro Ambahanon, capturing the spirit and creativity of the RMMC community. Institutional leaders, led by President Ma. Andrea Patricia M. Millado, graced the occasion, reaffirming the administration’s continued support for cultural preservation and education. A centerpiece of the celebration was the presentation of “Art Around Us,” a collaborative artwork by the Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd) program and Kuris Arts Guild, to the RMMC Library. This symbolic gesture represented the institution’s dedication to nurturing cultural appreciation among its students and faculty. Adding to the cultural richness of the event, the RMMC Library also received the book BAHANDI, a product of collaboration between the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and RMMC-Marbel Inc. The publication documents six indigenous creative forms from Mindanao, with contributions from Culture and Arts Officer Mr. Leonardo Rey S. Cariño, underscoring its scholarly and cultural value. The National Heritage Month celebration harmonized artistic performances, educational initiatives, and collaborative partnerships, solidifying RMMC’s role as a steward of Filipino heritage. Through events like this, the institution continues to inspire its community to honor, preserve, and celebrate the diverse traditions that define the nation’s cultural identity.
