The College Dean and program directors of the College of Allied Health Services, along with the librarians, attended the DACUN 16th Phil-BIST Conference and Book Fair in Davao City on August 20, 2024. The main purpose of their attendance was to select books for the BS Nursing, BS Pharmacy, and BS Midwifery programs.

They seized the opportunity to meet directly with publishers, negotiating access to e-books, journals, and other essential resources for research and learning. The fair also served as a platform for academic publishers to unveil their latest works, many of which focus on emerging disciplines.

ALBASA Celebrates 50th Anniversary with General Assembly and Book Fair

The Academic Libraries Book Acquisition Systems Association, Inc. (ALBASA) marked a significant milestone with its 50th General Assembly and Book Fair, held from July 17-19, 2024 at Cebu Ocean Park, SM Seaside Complex, Cebu City. The three-day event gathered librarians, educators, publishers, and book enthusiasts to celebrate five decades of advancing academic library services and resources.

The highlight of this event was the awards given to each member institution and the RMMC received 3 plaques of awards; the Lifeline Award - for the exceptional support and steadfast commitment for the unwavering dedication and contribution during the times of pandemic. The Star Award - as the top 8 performing institution under the college level in terms of quota fulfillment and patronage over the 50 years. The Million-Maker of the Year Award - for FY 2023-2024.

On August 1-2, 2024, the library staff organized a dynamic team-building event to foster collaboration, communication, and camaraderie. Through a series of interactive activities, workshops, and problem-solving exercises, participants strengthened teamwork and enhanced their working relationships. The event provided an opportunity to reflect on shared goals, build trust, and develop strategies to improve library services, all while enjoying a supportive and engaging environment.
