Bachelor of Science in Midwifery
The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) is a four-year degree program that prepares students for advanced midwifery practice, leadership, education, and research. It builds upon foundational midwifery knowledge and skills, with emphasis on safe, ethical, and evidence-based care for women, newborns, and families across the reproductive lifespan. The curriculum includes courses in maternal and child health, reproductive health, community midwifery, family planning, obstetrics and gynecology, neonatal care, as well as public health and primary health care. Students also undergo clinical training in hospitals, birthing facilities, and community health centers. Graduates are eligible to take the Midwifery Licensure Examination and pursue careers as registered midwives, maternal and child health advocates, clinical instructors, or public health practitioners. The program also provides a pathway to leadership roles in maternal healthcare, education, and research.
