Bachelor of Library and Information Science
The Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) is a four-year degree program that prepares students to manage, organize, and provide access to information resources in various formats. It combines traditional library practices with modern information technology to meet the needs of libraries, archives, and information centers in the digital age. The program covers key areas such as cataloging and classification, reference services, collection development, information literacy, records management, and digital librarianship. It also emphasizes research, communication skills, and the ethical use of information. Graduates are qualified to work as librarians, information officers, archivists, records managers, knowledge managers, and library system administrators in academic, public, school, and special libraries, as well as corporate and government institutions. The program also prepares students for the Librarian Licensure Examination.
