RMMC Strengthens Community Bonds Through Akbay-Agapay Outreach The “Pagkakaisa at Pagtutulungan ng Komunidad: Tungo sa Pag-abot ng Pangarap sa Matatag na Bukas” program, held on February 10, 2024, showcased the Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges’ (RMMC) unwavering commitment to community empowerment and equitable education through its Akbay-Agapay initiative. The outreach activity took place at Pao-Pao Elementary School, where RMMC distributed food packs and school supplies to scholarship grantees, easing their financial challenges and enabling them to focus on their education. Beyond material assistance, the initiative fostered solidarity and collective responsibility, strengthening collaboration among the RMMC Graduate School, Pao-Pao Elementary School, and local stakeholders. This partnership emphasized the importance of education as a tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and building a sustainable future, while also nurturing a shared sense of hope and purpose within the community. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—the Akbay-Agapay initiative highlighted how local actions can lead to systemic change. By empowering students and families to take an active role in their educational journeys, RMMC continues to champion inclusive growth and community resilience. This impactful endeavor demonstrated how collaboration and compassion can drive lasting social transformation toward a more equitable and sustainable society.
