RMMC BCAEd Students Shine at 18th Tanghal National Theater Festival The fourth-year students of the Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAEd) program at Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges (RMMC) proudly represented the institution at the 18th Tanghal National University and Community-Based Theater Festival, held on March 14–16, 2024, in Mindanao. In alignment with Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), the festival celebrated the synergy between academic and community-based theater. RMMC’s contingent captivated audiences with two original theater productions — Let’s G sa Bangin and Matahom. Let’s G sa Bangin depicted the emotional journey of three friends—Mekus, Shoti, and Shobi—who faced a life-defining choice during a stormy climb to Sanchez Peak. Meanwhile, Matahom delved into the complexities of friendship, exploring themes of jealousy, vulnerability, and emotional growth. These performances demonstrated the students’ artistic excellence and their ability to communicate profound social and personal themes through the performing arts. RMMC’s participation underscored the transformative power of theater in nurturing creativity, empathy, and civic engagement. Beyond showcasing talent, the event reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to fostering cultural awareness and sustainable community development through education and the arts.
