RMMC Criminology Interns Empower Community Through Immersion Program The Community Immersion Program conducted by Group 1 of Criminology Interns from Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College (RMMC) on May 25, 2024, at Purok Balakayo, Barangay Olympog, showcased the interns’ dedication to social responsibility and community development in line with Sustainable Development Goal 1 (No Poverty). The initiative served as an avenue for the interns to apply their academic learning in meaningful, real-world contexts while contributing to local well-being. A key component of the program was a community clean-up drive, which not only improved the local environment but also promoted teamwork, responsibility, and active citizenship among participants. The interns also organized interactive parlor games for children, including Stop Dance and The Longest Line, creating joyful and engaging experiences that strengthened bonds within the community. As a gesture of gratitude for the residents’ warm hospitality, the interns distributed goods to households, reflecting values of compassion, unity, and mutual respect. The event provided valuable hands-on learning, fostering ethical awareness and empathy among the interns while inspiring a sustained commitment to public service. This community-centered effort highlighted RMMC’s continuous mission to nurture students who lead with integrity and purpose beyond the classroom.
